How to discharge your heart rate monitor

Why discharge your heart rate monitor? Sometimes the heart rate monitor can retain some residual charge that causes interference in the signal. These steps will remove any residual charge and allow for a cleaner signal. Depending on the monitor, this may have to be done every once in a while.

How to discharge your heart rate monitor:

1. Unpair the heart rate monitor from your phone/tablet and from Elite HRV
2. Remove the battery from your heart rate monitor
3. Close the battery slot (empty, do not put the battery back in)
4. Put on the chest strap and monitor as you would normally but without the battery in it
5. Wear it for 30 seconds to 1 minute
6. Remove the strap
7. Reinstall the battery into the monitor
8. Put on the chest strap and monitor as you would normally (moisten the strap)
9. Pair the monitor with your phone/tablet and/or in the Elite HRV app
