Advanced Connection Troubleshooting

Please note that chest straps need to be worn to connect.

  1. Turn your phone on Airplane Mode
  2. Only turn on Bluetooth
  3. Try the HRV reading
  4. If it works, you shouldn't have to do this in future, it is a hard "reset" for the Bluetooth connection and should work normally after that
If it still doesn't work, perform the following steps in order:
  1. "Kill" the Elite HRV app (close it completely via your phone's "Recent Apps" list)
  2. Take off your heart rate monitor
  3. Unpair the monitor from your phone/tablet’s Bluetooth Settings
  4. Turn Bluetooth off
  5. Open the Elite HRV app
  6. Turn Bluetooth on
  7. Put on the heart rate monitor and quickly start an HRV reading (as fast as you can after putting on the monitor)

If it still doesn't work, perform the following steps in order:

  1. Take off your heart rate monitor
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open Elite HRV
  4. Put on the heart rate monitor and quickly start an HRV reading (as fast as you can after putting on the monitor)

Advanced Steps:

  1. Hard restart your phone/device. Example for iPhone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo (Trouble Connecting Heart Rate Monitor & Bluetooth Issues)
  2. Discharge your heart rate monitor (see this article)
  3. Specific uninstall pattern:
    1. Make sure your data is synced
    2. Uninstall the Elite HRV app
    3. Restart your phone/tablet
    4. Then reinstall the Elite HRV app
    5. Sign in with your same account and wait for your past data to automatically sync
  4. Update your phone to the latest Operating System (many Bluetooth updates have come out recently)
  5. Replace the battery in your HR chest strap

The above steps resolve 99% of connection issues. Please read carefully, do not skip steps, and stop troubleshooting when your monitor starts working.
